## How to do the Standing Calf Raise

1. Stand with your shoulders beneath the bar, toes on the edge of a weight plate.
2. Let your heels drop below the plate, keeping your knees straight.
3. Push up through your toes, raising your heels as high as possible.
4. Slowly lower your heels for a good stretch — don't roll your ankles.

### Full technique — 6 steps

1. Set your shoulders under the pads or bar and place the balls of your feet on the edge of a weight plate.
2. Stand tall with hips directly under your shoulders and let your heels hang below the plate.
3. Keep your knees nearly straight and hold the handles or bar to stay centered.
4. Drive through the balls of your feet and raise your heels as high as possible.
5. Finish with your heels fully raised without letting your ankles roll inward or outward.
6. Lower your heels until you reach a deep calf stretch below the plate.

## Common mistakes

- Bouncing out of the bottom stretch
- Using short partial reps
