# Standing Ab Wheel Rollout

An advanced ab wheel rollout started from standing, with the wheel on the floor in front of your feet. You roll out until your body is nearly flat with the knees off the floor, then pull the wheel back. Trains the abs to resist lower back arching.

### Full technique — 9 steps

1. Stand with feet about hip width apart and the ab wheel on the floor in front of your feet.
2. Push your hips back and bend forward until you can hold both handles with straight arms.
3. Grip the handles firmly and set your shoulders down without shrugging toward your ears.
4. Tighten your stomach, squeeze your glutes, and keep your ribs in line with your pelvis.
5. Roll the wheel out by reaching your shoulders forward and extending your arms ahead.
6. Lower your hips as the wheel travels, keeping your legs straight and your knees off the floor.
7. Stop before your lower back arches or your hips sag toward the floor.
8. Pull the wheel back by driving your hands down and contracting your abs hard.
9. Finish with your hips high and the wheel back in front of your feet.
