## How to do the Stability Ball Barbell Twist

1. Sit on the ball, feet flat, bar across your upper back.
2. Rotate your torso to one side, hips and ball still.
3. Turn back through the center, then to the other side.
4. Move with your trunk, not by swinging the bar.

### Full technique — 7 steps

1. Sit on a stability ball with knees bent about 90 degrees and feet flat and apart on the floor.
2. Rest a light barbell across your upper back and grip it with hands wider than your shoulders.
3. Tighten your stomach and keep your torso tall over the ball.
4. Rotate your torso and the bar to one side, keeping your hips and the ball still.
5. Turn until you reach your comfortable end range without leaning sideways.
6. Rotate back through the center under control and turn to the opposite side.
7. Keep the rotation driven by your trunk instead of swinging the bar with your arms.

## Common mistakes

- Swinging the bar for momentum
- Letting the ball roll during the turn
- Leaning sideways instead of rotating
- Rounding the lower back
- Using a weight too heavy

## Form cues

- Keep hips mostly still
- Move through the trunk
- Stay tall through torso
- Use light load first
