## How to do the Snatch Balance

1. Bar on the back of your shoulders, wide snatch grip.
2. Dip straight down, then drive up through your legs.
3. Punch under the bar and catch it overhead in a squat.
4. Stand tall with the bar overhead, then lower it to your shoulders.

### Full technique — 7 steps

1. Unrack the bar onto the back of your shoulders and take a wide snatch grip.
2. Stand with feet about hip width apart and tighten your stomach.
3. Take a shallow vertical dip by bending the knees while keeping your torso upright.
4. Drive up through your legs, then push yourself down under the bar as it leaves your shoulders.
5. Catch the bar overhead on straight arms as you drop into a squat.
6. Stabilize overhead, then stand to full extension with the bar balanced over the middle of your foot.
7. Lower the bar back to your shoulders under control before the next rep.

## Common mistakes

- Catching with elbows not fully extended
- Pressing the bar out instead of dropping under
- Cutting the squat high
- Dipping forward onto the toes
- Heels lifting at the bottom
- Standing before securing overhead

## Form cues
