4. Slowly lower the dumbbell, then switch arms after the set.

### Full technique — 7 steps

1. Stand tall with feet about shoulder-width apart and one dumbbell at your side.
2. Set a slight bend in your elbow and keep your torso upright without leaning away.
3. Rest your free hand on your hip or let it hang at your side.
4. Raise the arm out to the side until it reaches shoulder height.
5. Keep your wrist below your elbow and your shoulder down away from your ear.
6. Lower the dumbbell back to your side along the same path with steady control.
7. Complete all reps on one side, then switch arms.

## Form cues

- Keep wrist below elbow
- Keep shoulders level
- Slight elbow bend
- Raise out, not forward
