## How to do the Plate Steering Wheel

1. Stand tall, holding the plate by its edge at shoulder height.
2. Turn the plate a quarter turn, like a steering wheel.
3. Turn back and the same distance to the other side.
4. Avoid shrugging your shoulders during this controlled movement.

### Full technique — 7 steps

1. Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and hold a plate by its edge, hands on opposite sides.
2. Raise the plate straight in front of your body until it reaches about shoulder height.
3. Keep your arms nearly straight and your torso upright throughout the set.
4. Turn the plate a quarter turn to one side, so one hand rises to the top and the other moves to the bottom.
5. Keep the plate at shoulder height as it turns, without lowering your arms.
6. Turn back through the center and the same distance to the other side.
7. After the last rep, lower the plate to your thighs under control.

## Common mistakes

- Letting the plate drop below shoulder height
- Shrugging shoulders toward ears
- Twisting the torso to turn the plate
- Bending the elbows to shorten the lever

## Form cues

- Keep plate at shoulder height
- Arms stay long
- Keep shoulders down
- No torso swing
