# Half Kneeling Quad Stretch

A half-kneeling stretch for the quads and hip flexors of the rear leg, with the top of the rear foot resting on a box behind you. The deep knee bend stretches the front of the thigh more than a standard kneeling hip flexor stretch.

2. Rest the top of your rear foot on the box behind you.
3. Shift your hips forward, keeping your torso tall.
4. Avoid arching your lower back; gently squeeze the kneeling leg’s glute.
5. Hold, breathing steadily, then switch to the other side.

### Full technique — 6 steps

1. Kneel in front of a box with your back to it, one knee down and the other foot forward, front knee bent about 90 degrees.
2. Keep your torso upright and rest your hands on your front knee for balance.
3. Place the top of your rear foot on the box behind you, sole facing up.
4. Shift your hips forward until you feel a stretch across the front of the rear thigh.
5. Keep the glute of the kneeling leg squeezed to prevent your lower back from arching.
6. Hold the position while breathing steadily, then switch sides and repeat.

- Letting front knee drift inward
- Forcing painful range
- Twisting toward the rear foot

## Form cues
