### Full technique — 7 steps

1. Hold one dumbbell upright at your chest with both hands cupping the top end.
2. Stand in a long split stance, one foot forward and one foot back, both feet facing ahead.
3. Keep most of your weight over the front foot and rise onto the ball of the back foot.
4. Tighten your stomach and lower straight down until the back knee nears the floor.
5. Keep your torso upright and the dumbbell against your chest throughout.
6. Drive through the whole front foot to stand back up without stepping out of position.
7. Finish tall in the split stance, then complete all reps before switching sides.

## Common mistakes

- Front heel lifting off floor
- Letting the dumbbell drift off your chest
- Stepping out between reps

## Form cues

- Drop straight down
- Elbows down and in
- Front foot stays flat
- Torso stays tall
- Own the bottom position
