## How to do the Fire Hydrant Circles

1. Begin on your hands and knees, ensuring your wrists are under your shoulders.
2. Keeping your back straight, bend one knee to a 90-degree angle.
3. Lift that knee out to the side and draw small circles with it.
4. Keep your hips level, then lower the knee and switch legs.

### Full technique — 7 steps

1. Start on hands and knees with wrists under shoulders and knees under hips.
2. Tighten your stomach and keep both hips square to the floor.
3. Bend one knee to 90 degrees and keep that leg bent throughout the rep.
4. Lift the knee out to the side until your thigh is close to hip height.
5. Draw small, controlled circles with the knee while your torso stays still.
6. Lower the knee back under the hip with the torso and pelvis still square.
7. Complete all reps on one side, then switch legs.

## Common mistakes

- Rolling the pelvis open
- Arching through the lower back
- Shifting bodyweight to one side
- Swinging the leg with momentum
- Letting the knee drop between circles

## Form cues

- Keep pelvis square
- Move from the hip
- Draw small circles
- Stay off the low back
- Use hip range only
