### Full technique — 8 steps

1. Stand with feet slightly wider than hip width, toes turned slightly out, and one dumbbell on the floor between your feet.
2. Push your hips back, bend your knees, and grip the handle with one hand using an overhand grip, arm straight.
3. Keep your back flat and let your free arm hang relaxed.
4. Drive hard through the floor to extend knees and hips, sending the dumbbell straight upward.
5. Keep the dumbbell close to your body as it rises, leading with the elbow.
6. Punch your hand through and receive the dumbbell overhead with your arm straight and knees slightly bent.
7. Stand tall with the dumbbell directly over your shoulder, then lower it to the floor under control.
8. Complete all reps on one side, then switch hands.

- Catching with elbows not fully extended
- Overextending the low back overhead

## Form cues

- Keep dumbbell close
- Drive through whole foot
- Keep ribs down overhead
- Stand tall at top
