## How to do the Block Snatch

1. Set the bar on blocks just below knee height.
2. Bend your knees and hinge forward, gripping the bar with a wide snatch grip.
3. Push through your feet, keeping the bar close to your thighs.
4. Quickly pull yourself under the bar, extending your arms overhead.
5. Stand tall, balancing the bar directly above the middle of your foot.

### Full technique — 8 steps

1. Set the loaded bar on two blocks so it rests below knee height, and stand close to it with feet about hip width apart.
2. Take a wide snatch grip so the bar sits at hip level when standing tall.
3. Push your hips back and bend your knees until your shoulders are slightly over the bar, back flat and arms straight.
4. Tighten your stomach and push through your feet to lift the bar off the blocks, keeping it close to your thighs.
5. Violently extend hips, knees, and ankles, then shrug as the bar accelerates straight upward.
6. Pull yourself under the bar and punch to a straight-arm overhead position in a full squat.
7. Stabilize overhead, then stand to full extension with the bar balanced over the middle of your foot.
8. Lower the bar back onto the blocks and reset before the next rep.

- Standing before securing overhead
