3. Sit up until upright, arms straight, bar ending overhead.
4. Lower back down under control, bar returning over your chest.

### Full technique — 7 steps

1. Lie on your back with your legs straight and together on the floor.
2. Hold the barbell with an overhand grip about shoulder width and raise it over your chest with arms straight.
3. Tighten your stomach and keep your elbows straight for the whole set.
4. Exhale and sit up by curling your torso off the floor, keeping your arms pointing straight up.
5. Continue until your torso is upright and the bar is overhead, arms in line with your torso.
6. Lower your torso to the floor under control, bringing the bar back over your chest.
7. Keep your legs on the floor and reset the bottom position before the next rep.
