## How to do the Barbell Explosive Calf Raise

1. Stand with the bar across your upper back, feet flat on the floor.
2. Push up through your toes, raising your heels as high as possible.
3. Rise fast, keeping the balls of your feet on the floor.
4. Slowly lower your heels back to the floor.

### Full technique — 7 steps

1. Place the barbell across your upper traps, not your neck, and secure it with a firm overhand grip.
2. Stand with feet about hip width apart, flat on the floor, with a slight knee bend.
3. Tighten your stomach and keep your torso tall.
4. Drive through the balls of your feet and raise your heels as high as possible.
5. Rise fast, without letting the balls of your feet leave the floor.
6. Lower your heels slowly until they return to the floor.
7. Pause briefly with your heels down, then start the next fast rise.
