## How to do the Balance Board Weight Shift

1. Feet near each end of the board, slight knee bend.
2. Shift your weight so the board tips down on one side.
3. Roll back through the center to the other side.
4. Keep a smooth rhythm for the planned time.

### Full technique — 7 steps

1. Place the roller under the middle of the board, then step on with one foot near each end.
2. Stand with a slight knee bend and hold your arms slightly out to your sides for balance.
3. Shift your weight toward one side, bending that knee a little more so the board tips down on that side.
4. Keep your torso upright and your eyes looking ahead as the board rolls.
5. Shift your weight back through the center and tip the board down on the other side.
6. Keep your feet in the same places on the board throughout.
7. Continue rocking side to side at a smooth, controlled pace for the planned time.

## Common mistakes

- Standing with straight, rigid knees
- Leaning the torso instead of shifting weight
- Feet sliding toward the center of the board
- Looking down at the board
- Rocking too fast to control

## Form cues

- Slight knee bend
- Stay tall through torso
- Eyes looking ahead
- Feet stay in place
- Keep hips level
